The Essence of September 11th takes an in-depth look at the very heart of the many controversies swirling about 9/11. These issues range from the response to 9/11 by the FAA, NORAD, and the FBI, to The 9/11 Commission Report, as well as various technical theories put forth by NIST, FEMA, and different scientists and engineers which purport to explain how the Twin Towers and Building 7 collapsed or which supposedly account for what transpired at the Pentagon on 9/11. In addition, a very careful analysis is pursued in conjunction with a book published by Popular Mechanics entitled Debunking 9/11 Myths. Seeking to walk a fine line between aligning itself with either the government's own 'official' conspiracy theory or the many versions of conspiracy theory that are not 'official', The Essence of September 11th avoids getting sidetracked with -- at least at this stage of things -- irrelevant considerations such as trying to identify guilty parties and, instead, focuses on providing an impartial analysis of the evidence in order to determine the essential features of 9/11. Moreover, as horrific as 9/11 is -- both in terms of the 3,000 lives lost on that day, as well as the many lives which were lost as a result of how that day was framed by the media and government, and, consequently, came to lead to the deaths of tens of thousands of other people -- the fact of the matter is that 9/11 is only one issue among many which haunt the American landscape. These include, but are not limited to: massive poverty, lack of affordable health care for tens of millions of people, homelessness, a rising national debt, problems with balance of trade deficits, corporate irresponsibility, the ludicrous legal fiction which treats coporations as 'persons' and the many difficulties this causes for society and government, the unhealthy influence of lobbyists upon government, the manner in which money warps election campaigns and corrupts the subsequent behavior of all too many elected officials, an increasingly degraded environment, the absence of any meaningful sense of accountability with respect to government officials, a banking system which tends to serve vested interests and not the interests of the people, NAFTA and the drive to have a North American economic union among Mexico, Canada, and the United States, the obstacles which are placed in the way of third-party candidacies by the existing proprietary parties, government regulatory agencies which don't properly regulate and, instead, are often regulated by the corporations and businesses that are supposed to be the ones being regulated.
